Registration for St. JPII Camp now open; staff and service team applications being accepted

OND Staff Report

Registration for the St. John Paul II Middle School Camp is now open. Two sessions of the annual camp for teens entering grades seven through nine will be held at Northern Pines Camp near Park Rapids. The first session is July 8-12, and the second session is July 15-19. The camp costs $325 per camper, or $300 per camper for two or more members of the same family.

The theme for this year’s camp is “Wild and Untamed”. Campers will explore the role of the Holy Spirit in their daily spiritual lives through keynote talks, men’s and women’s sessions, small group discussion, and more.

To register for the camp, visit www.crookston.org/jp2camp.

Camp staff and service team applications are also available at www.crookston.org/jp2camp. Applications must be submitted by April 9. The cost to serve as a staff or service team member is $50 per camp.

The purpose of St. John Paul II Camp Staff is to help participants deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, help them experience the love of Christ in new ways, and awaken a deeper desire to follow him in his Church. This takes place in daily encounters with God through the Mass, sacraments, Sacred Scripture, prayer, worship, fellowship and service.

Staff roles include: facilitating small group throughout the camp, supervising cabins at night, actively participating in large group activities, and being a role model to both the campers and the service team members.

The St. John Paul II Camp Service Team is an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to serve Jesus and his Church. The service team partners with the staff. Those on the service team participate in small-group activities and formation led by service team directors. They also perform skits and dramas, lead grace before meals, and share their testimonies with campers.
