St. John Paul II Middle School Camp is designed to empower young people entering grades 7-9 to become disciples of Jesus Christ by engaging them in prayer, worship, leadership skill development, scriptural reflection, and service learning. This camp is designed for youth who have a desire to grow in their faith and share that faith back home in parish and family life.

“In the Acts of the Apostles, St Luke describes the extraordinary manifestation of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost as a communication of the very vitality of God who gives himself to men. This divine gift is also light and power: light, to proclaim the Gospel, the Truth revealed by God; power, to infuse the courage of witnessing to the faith, which the Apostles begin at that very moment” - St. John Paul II (May 18, 1997).

The theme for this years camp is “Wild and Untamed” and will explore the role of the Holy Spirit in our daily spiritual life.  Through keynote talks, men’s and women’s, small group discussion, and much more, we will equip every camper with a better understanding of Holy Spirit in our lives.

The purpose of St. John Paul II Camp Staff is to help participants deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, help them experience the love of Christ in new ways, and awaken a deeper desire to follow Him in His Church. This takes place in daily encounters with God through the Mass, Sacraments, Sacred Scripture, prayer, worship, fellowship, and service. Staff must be passionate, flexible, & prepared to work alongside the Diocesan Director to accomplish the camp’s mission.

Camp Staff members are asked to serve wholeheartedly, devoting ourselves to the campers’ needs, and for the glory of God. Your presence as the heart and hands of Christ will serve not only the campers, but your own faith journey.  If selected to being on staff, some of your roles will include: facilitating small group throughout the camp, supervising cabins at night, actively participating in large group activities, and being a role model to both the campers and the service team members.

To help discern whom God is calling to staff St. John Paul II Camp, the application includes questions that will help us get to know you better, and reference letters from those that can attest to character.

The St. John Paul II Camp Service Team is an awesome opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to have a life-changing week with Jesus: Serving Him and His Church at our annual Diocesan camp for middle school. The Service Team (ST) will partner with the adult staff for the week, collaborating for the good of our campers. Service Team is a week filled with hard work for the glory of God. Come with a positive attitude and the heart of Christ for service and you will find that your faith will grow in profound ways as you show love to the campers and staff in a very practical and direct way.

More than work, those on the Service Team will participate in small-group activities with the rest of the ST, participate in formation led by Service Team Directors, perform skits and dramas, lead meal graces, and share their testimonies to the campers. This is an opportunity for you to grow deeper in your own relationship with Christ as a Service Team member.

To help discern whom God is calling to be on the service team for St. John Paul II Middle School Camp, the application includes questions that will help us get to know you better, and reference letters from those that can attest to character.
